4_see-important-seo-details.jpgI should start by saying RAGE is one of my favorite Mac software developers. They create unique products that fit niche markets and they seem to be doing it quite well.

This is a description of Rage Domainer from RAGE’s website:

Manage your domains with RAGE Domainer. RAGE Domainer lets you keep track of the domains you own, and the domains you want to own letting you know when they expire and which ones provide the best bang for your buck.

Safari 3.1 Released

March 19th, 2008 Dan Posted in Mac Software Reviews | No Comments »

safari.jpegHoly Cow this thing is fast! It loads faster, renders sites faster, all and all a well put together upgrade for Safari.Apple on Tuesday announced that version 3.1 of its Safari browser is available for both Mac and Windows users. Rare that you see any software developer release both at the same time.

The Web browser now supports a number of new Web standards: HTML 5’s latest audio and video tags, as well as CSS Animations. Apple claims that page load times in Safari 3.1 are 1.9 times faster than Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 7 and 1.7 times faster than Mozilla’s Firefox 2, and that JavaScript runs as much as six times faster in the new Safari than in other browsers.

Who knew that Apple would now write the best browser that runs on Windows? Wow!

Apple offers Safari as a free download. The browser, in its Safari 3.0 iteration, was first made available to Windows users last June.In order to run Safari 3.1, Mac users will need to be using the Mac OS X Leopard or Mac OS X Tiger version 10.4.11 operating systems; Windows users will need to be running Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Instant Handbrake: The Ultimate iRipper

instant_handbreak.jpgI have an iPhone and an iPod, and I’ve been looking for a simple solution for converting my DVDs to Video. A Quick Google Search will show you there are several different options out there - some free, some not-so free. Last night, however, I found my favorite of the bunch - Instant Handbrake.

Handbrake has been around for a while now, and the full sized version of the program has a lot of cool features and tweaks that you can play around with, but Instant Handbrake is a little different. It’s dedicated specifically to the Video iPod and PSP…and it is ridiculously simple to use. After you download the program, install it into your Application folder and launch it. You’ll see a small window (pictured at the top of the article) with a few options. You can insert a DVD into your drive, or point IH to a folder on your hard drive. Instant Handbrake will analyze the folder and then show you the separate video tracks, allowing you to select the ones you want to convert. I have read that some older DVDS - and a few of the new releases, like Stealth - give IH some trouble because of the way they were encoded, making it hard to find all of the video tracks on the disks. I didn’t have this problem with anything that I tested, but keep it in mind, none the less. Read the rest of this entry »
